The Extra Animation

Update

This is everything so far except for a few key scenes. The shot where the multi-modal girl changes her dissertation into a video is animated but has not been added yet. There's also more animation for our judges but they have not been added yet either.

Some Animation

Here's a few animated shots. This is not in exact order.

New Boards

A random student defends his dissertation.

The judges are listening.

Random student finishes.

The judges think his dissertation is brilliant and they clap.

Congratulatory handshake.

Random student hands off his work.

The dissertation is put in a folder.

The folder closes up

and fades into the dark filing cabinets.

We see a giant archive for dissertations.

Prison bars slide by, representing how all this juicy research is practically unobtainable to anyone else.

Now we see our main girl defending her dissertation.

They are listening.

She finishes.

They clap.

BUT she has something extra to show.

They wonder ,"what could it be?"

Her dissertation floats

and transforms

into a video.

The judges love it!

Congratulatory handshake.

She hands in her work.

But unlike the other work handed in, this one can be uploaded online and shared with anyone. We close in on the CD

which turns into a play button.

A play button we see on someone's laptop.

Recap

- A student is giving his proposal on his dissertation in front of class. From his mouth "words" are spilling out and floating into the air.
- We see half the class sleeping and the other half bored to death as a cloud of "words" linger above their heads.
- Our main character looks bored and annoyed. She turns over to see if the rest of the class is as bored as her.
- They are. We see a group of students either sleeping or entirely zoned out.
- Our main girl looks hopelessly at her proposal, loathing her turn as she knows it's just going to be more boring, old words.
- The teacher calls over our girl to give her proposal to the class.
- Before our girl gets out of her seat she glances at her computer, unplugs her flash drive, and heads up.
- Our girl is giving her proposal, "words" spill out of her mouth just the same.
- She looks up from her paper, annoyed.
- We see that her classmates are disinterested in her words and are still sleeping or dozing off.
- Our girl takes out her flash drive, plugs it into the teacher's computer, and pulls down the screen much to her teacher's annoyance.
- On the screen we see her scramble through her files to find some video footage she put together for her research. She plays the video and we open on people nonchalantly passing by a homeless man on a side walk.
- We see the students instantly peak up and become absorbed in the video.
- The teacher looks away from the screen and notices how engaged her students are. She looks back up at the screen and smiles - realizing that film is a good way to communicate feelings that text simply can't.
